Connecting a Haas TL-1 over MTConnect in one day

The fleet's first Haas Automation control went live in a day — with robust MTConnect streaming and the same screens as every other machine.

Haas TL-1 toolroom lathe

Haas controls with the Next Generation Control ship an MTConnect agent: an HTTP endpoint that describes the machine, snapshots its data items and streams changes. The lab's TL-1 toolroom lathe became the fleet's third controller family, connected through a new MTConnect connector, in one working day.

Robust streaming

The connector streams continuously from the agent and stays consistent across pauses and reconnects, so no data is silently skipped. An idle lathe that sits there for hours, powered and ready, is reported as what it is — idle, not offline.

Same roles, same screens

Execution state, mode, program, positions, spindle speed and the program-end counters that drive part counting were bound to the same semantic roles the Sinumerik machines use. The TL-1 appeared on the Current Shift board and the timelines next to the tool grinder and the Swiss lathe without any change to the analytics.

Bring intelligence to your machines.

Connect existing CNC equipment without replacing the machine or the controller. We start with one machine, real data and an honest acceptance run.
