Solution · Machine Data Acquisition
A data foundation for machines you already own.
For research groups, process engineers and machine builders who need trustworthy, detailed machine data without replacing the machine or the controller — and who need to get it out again in a form they can work with.
The problem
What you are up against.
- 01
Variable addresses copied from a manual, half of them wrong.
- 02
Every data project starts with a new script and a new file format.
- 03
Sensor and controller data recorded with different clocks cannot be lined up afterwards.
The approach
Find instead of copy
The EdgeBox reads the complete list of everything the controller offers — more than ten thousand data points on a Sinumerik 840D sl — into a searchable catalogue. Pick any value for the live view, a recording or a calculated signal, without ever typing an address.
One time axis for controller and sensor data
Sensor data carries the exact time it was measured; deviations of the controller's clock are corrected automatically. Recordings hold both in the same archive, on the same time axis.
Export without a project
CSV per recording, a ZIP of up to fifty recordings at once, CSV from every report, and a documented interface for reading signals over any period. Recordings are kept permanently.
What we use
- Every value the controller offers, from a searchable catalogue
- Siemens, Haas and other controllers, read directly
- Additional sensors at the machine, where needed
What you get
- A complete, searchable list of every controller value per machine
- Controller and sensor recordings on one time axis
- Permanent archive with CSV and ZIP export
- Repeatable recordings that start automatically on a condition
Tested on
- LabSinumerik 840D sl — more than ten thousand data points found
- LabSinumerik 828D — complete list of controller values found
- LabHaas TL-1 — same views and reports as on the Siemens machines
Tested on the lab machines in Tuttlingen — proof that it works, not customer references.

We start with one machine and the signals it already has. Tell us the controller and the question, and we will tell you what the first weeks look like.
