Toleron is developed at the KSF laboratory in Tuttlingen, on a machine park that spans tool, surface, profile and cylindrical grinding, Swiss-type and toolroom turning, and precision milling. Four machines are instrumented today — a Sinumerik 840D sl tool grinder, a Sinumerik 828D Swiss lathe, a Haas TL-1 and a controller-less surface grinder — and every capability on this website was measured on them.
What real machines teach
Real machines have controller clocks that disagree with the rest of the plant, power and network conditions no simulator models, protocol implementations with their own behaviour, and long idle periods that look like outages to a naive system. None of this appears in a simulated dataset. All of it has shaped the product, as design rules rather than patches.
Rules of the lab
- A component is not called operational until real acceptance criteria pass on real hardware.
- Mock data is never used to claim a real sensor path works.
- Every release ships with a backup, a rollback tag and a written deploy report — including a known-limitations section.
- Proof points are capability proof, not customer references, and are labelled as such.
